Music & Myth
In this engaging and entertaining talk from TEDxNYU at New York University, AJ Smith discusses the mythical power of music and its role in our cultural expression. Through a unique blend of performance and storytelling, AJ shows how music is one of the primary languages of our culture -- more expressive than science, and more powerful than the spoken word.
About AJ Smith
Classically trained on both the piano and the violin, AJ began to write music when he was 8 years old. The lyrics didn't start coming until the age of ten, and in his late teens at a University of Virginia summer program AJ's passion for songwriting became insatiable.
Whether inking clever hip-hop rhymes or penning heart-wrenching blues melodies, AJ hopes to develop into an "any genre" pro songwriter.
